This a beautiful facility, but the discharge planning is poorly executed. My family member was not evaluated for her capacity to provide her own care. Her short term memory, hearing and vision limitations were not considered prior to an abrupt discharge to home. She was ill trained to assume medical tasks that task her deficits.
In addition the in house doctor made decisions to alter the medication plan set forth by specialist, when conservative first line medications should have been trialed.
As with any nursing care facility, the best course is visit your family member frequently, follow up with the medications ordered to be assured that no medication orders are omitted, and request team meeting to determine the plan and goals for care both now and in the future.
The staff is pleasant, the facility beautiful, but it suffers from the same ills as less attractive nursing care facilities.
