BEWARE!!! IndianSpring of Oakley in Cincinnati, Ohio is a beautiful, modern facility with a great physical therapy room and terrific physical therapists BUT…my mother would have fallen and broken a hip if we had not hired a private night nurse. The IndianSpring nurses do not respond promptly when the patient requests assistance. When you complain about why it takes sometimes over 30 minutes for a nurse to respond, they will say you are incorrect because they record each call and response time, and it is always under 10 minutes. Either they are not telling the truth, or the nursing staff is manipulating how they record the response time. Our private night nurse kept a diary of when she requested help and when the IndianSpring 'nurse' arrived; and IndianSpring’s performance was dismal. They may have taken advantage of the fact that we hired a private nurse but that's not right either as we paid the same as all the other patients. They are understaffed and the sales person will lie to you about how many nurses are on duty at night. I don't think they keep the state-required ratio of registered/practical nurses per patient. Some of the nurses were competent; some were scarily, dangerously incompetent. One nurse actually asked ME how to use a medical apparatus on my mother. She had no training on the apparatus and had no idea what she was doing, but was going to go forward and administer it anyway. She could have injured or potentially killed my mother if she had done it incorrectly. Needless to say, we told her under no circumstances should she operate the apparatus on my mother. Beware of CareSpring facilities. They are a for-profit corporation and will get away whatever is most cost-effective and profitable for them at the expense of your loved ones. It’s more profitable for them to pay off occasional lawsuits for negligence than to pay to staff their facilities properly.
