My Mom died October 17, 2012, the day after the night she was admitted to Barberton ER with a 104 degree fever and nearly unable to breathe. Pneumonia for "days" and septic infection for "hours" was the final death certificate cause of death. I saw her 10/16, concerned about her breathing, suspected pneumonia, they said they were on top of it, contacting the staff doctor. Late that night I got the call she was going to ER. How did she get to 104 degree fever and nobody noticed?? Not until she was practically dead! She had been in Manor Care since about May. I feel the doctor did not do what he should have done (Go see her, not rely on faxes and phone calls! Nurses are not Doctors!!!) They did not do the care I would have expected for my only Mom…now she is gone. I would not recommend sending anyone to Manor Care if you cannot be there every single day and have time to nag and make sure everyone does what everyone should be doing to care for your loved one. I wish I had just called 911 myself from my cell phone and not assumed they new what they were doing!
