My husband was admitted to Asheville Health Care after a prostate cancer diagnosis. He was flattened by the diagnosis, which was complicated by the fact that he had a stroke 4 years ago. He spent 10 days at an uncaring local rehab facility which made his situation, both medically and emotionally, worse. On admittance, one caring CNA at Asheville Health got him immediately refocused on recovery. I thought, at first, that she was an anomaly. Not so. Every CNA, every nurse, every physical therapist, and every administration staff member behaved the same. Within a few days, my husband had improved so much I sat down and cried with relief. Before his discharge 7 weeks later, my husband’s prostate cancer was being successfully treated, his stroke recovery was back on track – and more progress toward recovery from stroke was being made than we had experienced before in all 4 years of stroke therapy. Asheville Health has a secret. It knows the route to recovery, and it executes it flawlessly. (P.S. The food is outstanding at this rehab facility too!)
