Review of The Shannon Gray Rehabilitation & Recovery Center

1 Star User Review

My mother was transferred to Shannon Gray due to being a fall risk and needing physical therapy. Our family paid out of pocket for 1 month ($6150) and within 2 days we were ready to take her home to live alone rather than being ignored and untreated. She remained the full 30 days only because we paid upfront and could find no other available bed in the area. Her medications were not given properly or at all resulting in manic hallucinations. We asked for a bed monitor on her first day of arrival and the next day it still wasn't on the bed and we were told she "roamed" the halls all night. Her roommate had wondered into another resident's room, fell in the bathroom and had to be sent to the hospital. (She was also a fall risk). Every day when visiting you could hear the alarms and see the flashing light but no one went into the rooms to check on the residents. My family visited daily and had to seek out the nurses for medicines or personnel when needed for assistance to go to the toilet, etc. We have never seem such an apathetic group as those working at Shannon Gray. They ignore and talk down to the seniors as if they aren't important. The only good point to mention of this horrible stay were the therapists. I will never send a loved one to this facility. We realize the staff doesn't get paid a lot of money to serve food and help residents with baths, changing clothes, etc but we expect them to be well cared for and respected.
