Review of Lake Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center

this place is a JOKE. if you have family members or friends in lake park, GET THEM OUT. my uncle joe was just removed from the facility due to NEGLECT. a 80 year old man with no voice of his own was being given high doses of clonozapan (xanax) and when i went to visit him, he was in a wheelchair pushed into a corner facing the wall in a hallway. He had bedsores all over him because they hadn't moved him from the chair for so long, his eyes were caked with crust to the point he could barely open them, they told us he had been eating breakfast every day but when i visited him his tounge was so dry it was cracked and bleeding and he couldnt even swallow water. Today (march 7) he was taken to a hospital, upon further examination they determined he was dehydrated, and according to the doctors, he hadnt eaten in at least a week. I LOVE MY FAMILY, IF YOU LOVE YOURS, YOU WILL GET THEM OUT OF THIS HOUSE OF DEATH.

Yes!!!!!!!!!! DEHYDRATION was a HUGE problem for my brother. Only given sips of water with his meds. I begged them to give him Gatoraid, Boost & water through out the days. He was hospitalized a few times Dehydrated & UTI infection. Causing trauma for him & to top it off, he could not talk to express his needs & all the staff was aware, I made sure of that. Every time I went I made sure he drank at least 16 oz of liquids during my visit.

I had problems with my brother being given hard drugs causing terrible drowsiness & incoherient. I had many meetings discussing his meds. Seemed like they would change them continuously & not take time to wean him off the last ones.
