Review of Pelican Health at Charlotte

My relative was in their care for less than 3 weeks before being sent away in an ambulance. My first impression of the facility was less than satisfactory. The building smelled of urine; Patients were not kept in a clean manner, they were walking around drooling. Several patients there were complaining of being in pain. Also, according to their procedures, attendants are suppose to visit patients hourly either for vitals or bed turning and this is clearly not the case, because while we were visiting no-one came in to check on my relative for almost 2hrs. The food was horrible for example there was a cookie being given out to patients that was as hard as a rock, and when the crumbs dropped to the floor you could almost here them hit. Patients are treated with some care if you compare the facility vs. being on the street. This place was horrible even when paying with Medicaid or Medicare
