Review of Smoky Ridge Health & Rehabilitation

1 Star User Review

Not enough CNA's to give adequate care to residents. High staff turn over, especially the DON position. No follow up or follow through from family conferences. Patients who are not confined to bed are just "parked" in the halls and left to their own devices. Many have food on their clothing or clothes are otherwise soiled and smell of urine and/or feces. Many will tell visitors they are thirsty or hunger and request water or food. Those confined to bed are not checked on in a timely manner to insure that they are hydrated, clean or dry even when light over door is on. Soiled linen and disposable diapers are left sitting in hall in cart which consits of a frame work holding plastic garbage bags that are open to the air letting smells fill

the air. Daily cleaning of rooms consists of emptying trash cans, sweeping the middle of the floor, seldom under beds and night stands and occasional mopping with water that is used for entire shift. WIndow sills and night stands are seldom wiped down, the same for beds, wheelchairs, jeri chairs. Mattress's are not wiped down regularly. Sheets are not allowed on therapeutic air mattresses. I would not leave anyone there who is not checked on daily by family to ensure their well being!!
