Review of Sands Point Center for Health and Rehabilitation

We took my elderly mother here after a broken hip was pinned. She needed to be non-weight-bearing for two weeks. A family member was with her 24/7, however, we couldn't go in the bathroom and PT room with her. After two weeks the surgeon told us that she had not healed because too much weight was being put on the leg. We took her home and, although we are not trained in PT, we succeeded in keeping all weight off the leg till it healed. Now we have been told that the injured leg is shorter than the other because the impaired healing, and that the leg was also twisted at the rehab canter. This is causing her a lot of pain. The staff seemed nice enough, but clearly either did no know what was required or didn't bother to take enough care. I would never send anyone here who needed any specific care.
