I have a parent there and am afraid on a daily basis. The nusing staff seems to care but the aids do not follow their directions. They have a very high concentration of Medicaid patients and withhold medical services to paying residents ecause it is understood that they would have to provided the same care. A senior staff member forged a DNR, illegail restrains have been used several times by misinformed aids and the menu desigated by the dietician is not implimented by the dining staff. The response being that the people serving the food simply ignore the dietician's instructions. The hose physician do not want to talk to family members; or the requests are not being given to them.
The unfortunate situation is that this place may be above average in some ways. If they would stop accepting Medicad patients who could not payfor 3 (or moe) years first perhaps their financial basis would be better.
I was never made aware of the overwhelming Medicaid population.
