My mother spends her days and nights sleeping. I have complained about the amount of time she spends in her bed. I am repeatedly told my mother has her rights, and they can not make her do anything. I have documented emails and letters I have sent to the head nurse as well as the social workers. My correspondence goes unanswered. Eight days ago I sent an email to the head social worker asking for the name and phone number of my mom's ombudsman. I have not received a reply. Parkwood is without a van. Residents are never taken out for day trips. Every time I visit my mom the halls reek of urine. I have not been shy about letting the nurses know about the smell. I am desperately searching for another nursing home that will accept a medicaid resident.
