Review of Bay View Nursing & Rehabilitation Center

1 Star User Review

Poor and even resistance to communication with family. Ignored call lights. Theft of personal items and given brush off at suggestion to investigate. Very few choices and opportunities for activities and outings. Water and food left out of reach of residents. Low quality of professionalism and knowledge of on staff physician(s). Facility seem clean and is a nice building, cats on 1st and 3rd floor, also bird, unlimited visiting times is nice. Lack of activities and reading materials in lounges. Many caring nurses, however they are overworked and streatched thin which leads to rapid turnover and unleliablity of staff. No care confrences with family. This is a for profit facility - be careful.

This is very true being understaffed & high turnover. One CNA & one LPN had 15 residents where at least 6 are Hoyer Lift, and several are two person assist. Hoyer lift takes 2 people to operate. When my mom went there we were told that the memory care unit had specialized care givers, now they are all rotated all over the facility. If you are short of help then the administation should be there to pick up and help out. We take care of my mom 5-6 days & evenings a week. The care givers can only do so much when they are alone. What a dirty shame to run a facility that way.
