Review of Mosaic of Lakeshore, The

2 Star User Review

I am a relative of a family member, who is currently as of 8/11/2011 a resident of Lakeshore Nursing & Rehabilitative Center. There are some genuinely caring professionals that work there in various departments,(namely doctors, cna's and nurses). I have personally witnessed on my numerous visits there bullying behavior by some staff members(both cna's and nurses) personally. A nurse (BSN) berated a resident,by telling them, a liar" . There is low morale with some cna's there, I overheard one declaring that, she ,"hates this place". The quality of food is inconsistent, not enough fresh fruit, inedible and cold. Another example of poor quality of service was, a resident who is usually complacent,(even when displeased), was quietly adamant that he had not received his needed medication that morning. He defiantly stood in front of the nurses station for 10 minutes declaring calmly, that he had not received all of his medication. The nurse vehemently stated he was mistaken, and must have,"thrown it away". The resident stood his ground ,while holding on to his walker, finally after 10 minutes or so, she took his blood pressure and it was high, and decided to give him what he quietly demanded in front of her colleagues. Calls to staff about status of concerns are sometimes returned, other times they're not. If a family member is there, I recommend you visit REGULARLY, and be proactive in the demands of consistency of quality of care for your loved ones.
