Review of Grove of Berwyn, The

I give a ZERO for my rating!!! Here is a typically day… I went to visit my father and his room smelled so bad you could smell it down the hall. I walked in and he had vomited on the floor next to him which must have been their for hours prior to my arrival because it was dried up with towels over it. Vomit was also all down the back of his shirt and pillow. He also had urine and fecal matter all over his pants and bedding and was completely soaked. When I called the CNA in the room to explain why this wasn't addressed he replied "what's wrong with it, I put towels over it." I explained to him that this wasn't acceptable and unsanitary and he walked away saying he would try to call maintenance. The biggest problem is this isn't just a one time occasion, this is ongoing. Almost every time I got to visit him I walk into something along these lines. Beside the poor treatment, everything he has gets stolen. Every piece of his clothing are gone down to his underwear. He has had 3 phones stolen and now doesn't even have one for fear it would be stolen again. And, his personal items such as cologne, cd's, soap, etc. are stolen as well. This place is nothing but a joke. Every time I walk in there the staff is not doing their job and the management is not doing anything to help either. Their building also needs maintenance; for example, the elevation is over a year past their inspection date and when I stressed this to the management they said don't worry we'll take care if it and 6 months later it is still not fixed. I would love nothing more than to move my father out of this facility as fast as possible, however, they put him on the 3rd floor which is for mentally ill patients(which he is not) and now I'm having trouble finding a place to move him. The entire staff should be ashamed of themselves and fired form their jobs for treating my father and the other patients with such neglect and cruel treatment. Nobody for any reason should ever be treated this poorly. I have never been in such disgust in all my life.If you are looking to place your loved one here, I would highly recommend you don't!! RUN FROM THIS PLACE AS FAST AS YOU CAN- DON'T WALK!!!!!!!
