Review of Good Samaritan Society - Boise Village

I do not recommend Good Samaritan Home. Our family had a very bad experience in their long-term care unit with our 90+ year-old mother. Their patient-to-nurse ratio is 12 to 1 (yes, that means there are only 2 nurses caring for 24 patients). Because of this, they are unable to provide timely care such as helping transport patients for toilet needs. This is a large facility and our mother had to use a wheelchair to get around. She complained many times about the nurses leaving her in the hallway or the activity room where she had to wheel herself to her destination. They were so neglectful, our mother fell trying to get herself to the bathroom. She broke bones in her hand and was bruised badly. They would still wheel her to the hallway and expect her to wheel herself to her destination—even with a broken hand! We promptly moved our mother to a different facility and plan to file an official complaint with local Health and Welfare authorities. If you’re looking for a well-run facility for long-term care for your loved one, keep looking.
