Review of Concordia Nursing & Rehabilitation Center-Lafayette

This place does have a wing of private rooms - that's where all their pictures are taken. That area is nice. The rest of the facility is nasty and is just an old people warehouse. I was on my way to take my wife out of there when I got a call that they had messed up her meds and she was on the way to the emergency room. She stayed a total of almost two days. That was more than enough.

OMG that is awefull I am so sorry that I never took my husband out of that place. But Georgia does not provide you with too many choices and they often refuse admittance to the good facilities if you only have medicare. My experience there with my husband was absolutely horrible. And your right they need to shut that place down. Because it's obvious their only motive is to get money. And yeah the doctor Goza lady with the fake smile who piled my usband with medication is a sorry excuse for a Doctor.

I won't go into horrid detail about my sister's experience at this FOR profit facility, but suffice it to say that the state will be heavily involved in their future. My attorney will, too. Problems with medications, sitting in urine until clothing is saturated and/or bed is, baths that happen once every 10 days unless someone outside complains, doctors that don't visit unless it's demanded, refusal of "management" (and I use the term loosely) to respond to family members…all of those are bad enough. It's the fact that they're supposedly "known" for PT, yet on day ONE, stroke victim who cannot hold her head up and has NO use of entire left side is sat up in wheelchair that's triple her body width and LEFT ALONE in her room to slide out on concrete floor that REALLY should deter one from allowing loved ones to enter here. Then, to have nurse ASK patient who is PARALYZED on left side (where she landed) whether she "hurts anywhere" and then call family to say that all is "okay…she says she doesn't hurt anywhere" makes me ill. Losing days of therapy (Medicare pays them for therapy whether patient gets it or not, thereby losing precious time!) and having patient get worse is beyond imagination. Your wife is blessed that you took her out so quickly. I won't allow this situation to continue. It's time for legislation to change!
