My husband was operated on at Emory for a glioblastoma (brain tumor) He rehabbed at Budd Terrace. This was April of 2013. It was a disaster. The therapists were good but the rest of the staff was unfriendly, incompetent and had "attitude," The food was so bad that after 2 days, I bought a little refrigerator for his room and brought in all his meals. I, or a family member, was there all the time and we constantly had to ask staff member to change his linens, clean him up or help in some other way. If we hadn't been there, lord only knows how long he would have stayed unclean. What a disappointment to think Emory would be associated with a place this dismal and poorly run.

The saddest part of this review is the response from the long term "nurse". She's so simple minded she doesn't even realize it did nothing but prove the bad attitude the comment referred to and exactly what I saw from the evil nursing staff the entire time my father was in there a week ago!
I am a long-term nurse at Budd Terrace on the Wesley Woods Campus of Emory Healthcare. Your experience is not the norm at Budd Terrace. My first question for you is this, why did you wait a year and a half before writing a review? Secondly, if your loved one was on a special / therapeutic diet, the food may not have been whay your loved one would have preferred; however, Budd Terrace receives scores of compliments on the quality of the food. Most of our patients rave about it being far better than the food in hospitals. I eat lunch at Budd Terrace several times per week and find it very good. We also get scores of compliments on how friendly our staff is; not sure what may have occurred in your situation. Often times, when family members accompany their loved ones to the center, families are tired, exhausted, and scared - often to the point they become angry at our staff. When this occurs, even our nicest staff members are perceived to being rude, because the family members themselves are rude to the staff. Also, often times, when family members don't get the answers they WANT to hear, they perceive the staff to have an attitude, etc. I am so sorry you perceive your experience to be poor, but you are truly, truly a minority in that opinion, which tells us that your poor rating is simply a perception, not reality.
