This is my 5th nursing home in 5 years so I have a fairly representative sample for comparison. I am a recent paraplegic and need access to skilled nursing care. This facility has surpassed all of the others in regards to patient care. Especially impressive are the aides, who, for scant remuneration, have exhibited exceptional skill and commitment in meeting my needs and empathetic patience in putting up with my many foibles and eccentricities. The nursing staff is similarly impressive, usually meeting my medical needs with care and dispatch. Even the food, invariably the subject of negative comment in these institutions, has shown a recent improvement. Some criticisms: most egregious is the repeated inefficiencies and mistakes made in scheduling doctor's apts. and transportation for same. Even when I attempt conformation, appointments are missed with disturbing frequency. I would feel safer if the ratio of RNs to LNs was higher. At times I must w
