As my father’s Parkinson’s progressed my mother was unable to care for him. As a result, he was placed into Riviera Palms because it was close enough Mom could visit daily. At first glance, the nursing staff seemed nice and professional, and the facility seemed to be a good place to entrust a loved one, but the longer he was in their care we realized it is not at all what it seemed. Within a few months problems with his care became apparent. He was not receiving the proper care for his condition at all and the nurses/aides were slow to react when needed. Dad had a drastic weight loss after being in their care. After questioning them, the staff was very rude to my mom and have gone out of their way to make her feel uncomfortable when she visited. We removed my father!
