My mom has been a resident at Shoal Creek for almost ten years. Was happy with them until this week. They moved her to another room without my knowledge or a phone call to allow me to get over there to lessen her fear.
She is 92 and has dementia and many other health problems and is wheelchair bound. She was very upset about the move. This was to provide another room for short term rehab patients. Really couldn't you wait a day to make more bucks on a room! The director was less than helpful. Kept citing their right to move patients, which I understand, but a little compassion wouldn't hurt either. Got over there today (they know I live 3 hours away) and she was still in tears.
