I had to secure a placement for my 64 year old husband who suddenly after an illness was left unable to walk. In the hospital, I was given a list of 26 nursing homes and was asked to pick out my top 5 choices. For me, there was only ONE choice. It was Mansfield Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation.
My experience with them has been wonderful, while in the past, observing it, visiting and caring for loved ones that were at MCNR, and currently, while my husband needs to be there. The staff has been most helpful and cooperative with our specific needs, beliefs, and wishes. I haven't met anyone there on staff who has been unpleasant. They are very careful to protect my husband's dignity and self esteem, even in the most unpleasant situations. They always have a smile for the residents and seem to really care about them. A couple of them even sing as they are working with the population there. They treat, not just the disability, but the whole person, even allowing our beloved dog to visit and spend time with my husband, soothing his heart and soul.
Physical therapy has been most helpful and very patient as they work with the individuals. They have suggestions that are reasonable and realistic as the individual is rehabilitated.
The facility is kept very clean, and it smells nice inside. This is very important and you know what I'm talking about if you've been in some of the facilities where you always see dirt in the corners or smell feces and urine around every corner. There is none of that at MCNR. The floors shine and it is brightly lit and and well kept.
All the staff seem to pool together to create a team that produces results and a happy atmosphere to be in. The Mansfield Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation is a facility that if you want to see results, it's the place to see!
