My sister was a patient for 15 days in 2012. She was transferred to another hospital after a 911 call from Orange. At the ER she was diagnosed with a massive infection which had gone undetected during her stay at Orange and which we know she did not have at the time she became a patient there. She nearly died 3 times in the next week and developed life threatening complications from the infection.
We complained to the licensing agency and we just received a letter from them reporting that Orange Healthcare & Wellness will be cited in connection with her stay due to failure of communication between nursing and medical staff regarding my sister's lab reports.
We had multiple contacts with the staff regarding my sisters care at Orange but none were documented in the nursing notes including times when we reported symptoms consistent with the infection that my sister was diagnosed with at the ER.
We have a number of other complaints about my sister's care while she was a patient but these were not substantiated by the public health investigation due to the lack of nursing records regarding her care so I will not report them here.
Obviously, we would not recommend this facility to anyone, particularly when family members are not available to make frequent visits to check on the patient and insist on communication with medical staff (not just nursing staff).
