Review of Glenoaks Convalescent Hospital

I went there to convalesce after being treated at a hospital.I have end-stage cancer (stage 4 prostate cancer that has spread to my bones).I was treated at the hospital because I hadn't eaten anything in 3 days-everytime I tried I vomited. So I was dehydrated.I was also low on potassium, as well as other things being wrong. They treated me with various IV's at the hospital and put me on a liquid diet. So,when I entered Glenoaks Convalescent,I was ready to start trying solid foods again.I was also ready to rest and recuperate. It was the "rest and recuperate" part that was impossible to do here. Why? Because a majority of their patients have dementia or other mental problems and are being "warehoused" here. There were 2 other guys in my room-the guy next to me was mentally screwed up and was an imposing guy-you wouldn't want to get him mad.He would turn the TV on loud every morning at 4:30 AM and leave it blaring until 11:30 PM.He would watch it half the time and doze off the other half. Then there were at least 2 people with dementia that would roam the halls night and day screaming. When I left, they wouldn't give me back the 8 Fentanyl patches I brought in.A strong drug like Fentanyl is the only thing that will control my pain these days. So,I am expecting severe pain in a couple of days.Oh,they offered me a psychotropic drug before I left, but I said no because I hadn't seen a Doctor to prescribe it (a little technicality) and I don't want to start down the road of Psychotropics that they give to their Zombies living in the hospital.
