A family member of mine was in the express stay rehab wing of the hospital. During her stay she contracted a bladder infection because of a catheter. Antibiotics were prescribed and cath removed. She had developed diarrhea and severe abdominal pain. Found that she had c.diff. When I arrived to visit, I could hear her screaming for help all the way down the hall. When I walked in the room, she was delirious not making any sense, her oxygen cannula was on the floor and her bed table was pushed out of her reach, she reeked of feces, (she could not get up on her own). This is inhumane!
I also noticed soiled linen on one of the chairs, and this facility does not have a place to wash other than the bathrooms in the patients room. We had to wear gowns and wash after visiting because the contagious state she was in. Also, when her diaper was being changed, it had been on so long that it was dried and painful when the nurse cleaned her, she cried! I asked the nurse if she was chafed or raw! She told me no, but I knew she was from before. And when she left the room SHE DIDNT WASH HER HANDS! I'm seriously concerned about the practice of cleanliness at this facility. It doesn't smell but I haven't seen anyone clean patient rooms, only the halls and bathrooms of the main areas!
