The worst of the worse, dirty, no supervision, patients out of control, refused medication and even medical care to my parent. APS did nothing, lockdown area lets patients sit and cry for help. In 7 months, did not see one nurse who cared, or even did the basics. Finally, State Police helped me get parent out and to hospital for pain care, now in a beautiful, safe, clean and top rated facility. They get zero as a rating…read up on them and get your family out and safe! All inspections show problems, no one is safe there.

I would give 5 stars, but the only reason I can't is because my mom would have preferred a private room. The admissions department did put her on the waiting list though. That being said, the therapy (whole reason we went) was incredible! The gym is HUGE and the staff was helpful. Overall, the building is a little older than some of the other places we looked at, but the renovations they have done did make it look nice and again the therapy was top notch. I strongly recommend Carriage Hill.

I've not had very positive interactions with Golden Living Center. My mother has been a patient there for over a year and my biggest problem with them is getting good feedback from them. In the past 3 months, I've tried to contact the Director of Nursing on numerous attempts and have yet to speak to her. I would say, out of more than a dozen times of my calling, she has attempted to return my call twice. I've had the same experience with her assistant or deputy director. My mother had been in aother nursing home for more than 4 years with not a single bed sore. In the past year at Golden Living she continues to have bed sore. There appointment tracker is archaic. They actually depend on a small desk calendar. On many occasions, I'd meet my mother at Golden Living in order to accompany her to an appointment with which they have scheduled and they go to this desk calendar that has very limited information scribbled then it takes them up to 30 minutes to figure out where the patient needs to go and for what reason. They skip on so many basics such as oral care and other personal care items. Two of the transport companies used to get the patients to their appointments have the same complaint based on my conversations with them. Many times when something happens with her, I as the primary contact for my mom, am not called or informed of the situation. My mother is on a feeding tube but has the ability and the go ahead from the speech therapist to eat soft foods if feed by a trained family member or a skilled CNA but in every instance, she is refused the opportunity to eat orally by the CNA's. She is not taken out of bed on a consistent basis to be allowed to sit up in wheel chair and is told they don't have time. The list goes on but would not recommend this place to anyone. A lot of work and change needs to happen and better skilled nurses need to be employeed.

My father came to Carriage Hill after a brief hospital stay. The goal was to go back to his Assisted Living facility, but at the time they said they could not meet his needs. By default we found ourselves at Carriage Hill and my father and I could not begin to express how beneficial his stay turned out to be. Things started off rough, because we had never been in this situation before. But the staff was so accommodating and helpful in explaining the whole process to us. My dad "graduated" rehab (as they call it) and is back happily at his Assisted Living Apartment stronger than ever. Nursing, the supportive team and especially REHAB were all amazing. As a service provider myself it is always great to hear a good job well done. Well "WELL DONE CARRIAGE HILL!"
