Review of Prestonwood Rehabilitation & Nursing Center Inc

Very poor service and medical care for an 81 year old rehab patient. Lack of concern when call button was pushed, lack of urgency in contacting Doctor to deal with pain and rash issues.. PT advice in direct contradiction of Doctor's wishes. Took my mother home and transferred her care to in home therapy.

I'm sorry to hear that your mother had a poor experience at our facility. Our response time to resident's calls is usually very quick, but from time to time urgent care must be given to another patient and our response may not be a prompt as we would like. Call response times are monitored by our Director of Nursing and Administrator to ensure that calls are being answered quickly and our patient's needs are being met.

I also regret that the response from your mother's physician was not as quick as you would have liked.

As for the Physical Therapy recomendation being in contridiction to the Doctor's wishes, it has been our experience that when someone is discharged from the hospital after a surgery the physician will often have a set of standing discharge treatment orders. For most patients these standard orders are sufficient, but occasionally we have a patient who appears to be healing more quickly or more slowly than the typical patient. At these times, our therapist may recommend a change to the physician's original treatment orders, however no changes would be made without an order from the physician. I'm sorry if there was a misunderstanding about this.

Sincerely,

Susan
