Very clean and beautiful facility, but one of the most incompetent staff you will ever find. If you really care about your elderly parents, DO NOT take them there. My mother was a resident at Belmont for 10 days following hip surgery. Physical therapy was a joke. General observations from my daily visits are that patients are treated with disrespect as if they were all suffering from dementia. It was very sad to see so many patients pleading for assistance. Dignity is not a word understood at Belmont. The staff nurses appeared caring at first, but it wasn't long before things started going wrong. To make a long story short, one of the nurses outright lied to me regarding my mothers care and medications. The staff also failed to immediately call an ambulance when my mother fainted and lost consciousness as a result of the nurse withholding key heart medications (without any consultation to her cardiologist as I had clearly insisted). The staff physician was also never around. A physician's assistant did see my mother several times - and her proposed solution to my mother's cardiac symptoms and anxiety (resulting from the all incompetent nursing) was to prescribe tranquilizers. Unbelievable! I am so convinced that if I not been there to refuse those medications on behalf of my mom - she would probably be dead by now. My mother's stay at the Belmont was nothing short of a nightmare. She has now transferred to another facility were she is receiving proper care and real physical therapy. One more thing… when I requested copies of my mother's medical records at the Belmont, they would only be released if she signed an agreement not to hold the Belmont liable for anything.
