Horrible experience with my mom and this place. She went in for physical therapy after a hospital stay--wish she had gone straight home! Apparently when you're elderly and in a facility such as this, you are at their mercy and have no rights whatsoever. Even though her doctor gave her the choice of going home or a bit of physical therapy to gain a little strength back, she was not "allowed" to go home when she wanted to. I am just stunned that my mother was treated as she was--borders on elder abuse in my opinion. I have always encouraged my mother to make her own decisions about her healthcare, etc. but that was taken away from her in Beverly and she was TOLD (or at least they tried) what to do and never consulted about her care, doctor's appts, etc. We were lied to and she was intimidated by "social workers" whoever they are. Just because someone is older doesn't mean they shouldn't have a voice in their own medical care. The bright spot were the rank & file worker bees support staff. Most of them were jewels and took great care of her and were very sweet. But the higher ups, sheesh! Arrogant bunch. Please stay away!
