Mother is at Egan. he is happy, it does not smell, the nurses are nice. Great access to social activities. food is good. Daddy can visit daily and even eats with Mother. They have bar b ques and outdoor concerts, weather permitting. Care is generally good, but you do have to watch at all times. Excellent PT/OT
cons:
New"house" MD and new nursing manager are rude, treat staff and families terribly. I have found several errors in meds ordered . Also , the staff seem sot have been cut since mid -June. Not many private rooms.
Dr. Hickey was amazing, his replacement not so much. We are actually looking for new placement, as the administration is, IMHO, wrecking the facility. Favorite employees just disappear.
Since we had 4 happy years here, I have to give a higher rating than if we moved in last week. None of the family is happy with admin., which seems focused on paperwork and not patient care. mom has had her first skin breakdowns since staffing has gone down.
All in all, a nice place that is sliding downward, but can be resurrected if given proper leadership. We hate to leave our friends, but Mother 's skin is more important than anything.
