Too few aides to give residents the attention they need and deserve. Most aides are loving and caring by nature, but are responsible for too many residents at a time. Residents wait outside the communal restroom, for too long, waiting for help. Nursing staff not assisting residents, bury their head in work at the nurse's station and if they pass the waiting residents they don't help, but tell them to wait a little longer. Some residents ask to go to bed after dinner and are often ignored. One woman started screaming wildly in frustration. Another resident gave some staff a chewing out after her patience wore out, waiting for help to get cleaned up and in bed. Often you'll hear that an aide isn't available after dinner because she's feeding someone on one of the other floors. There are never enough aides to go around and shortcuts are taken because they're always in a rush to get this resident done so they can rush to the next and the next and the next. It means the resident doesn't get all the care they deserve and the aide is stressed to the max. It's really not right, how this nursing home is run.
