ZERO STARS! The level of care is atrocious. Patients are left in urine and feces, call bells are ignored, medication mistakes are commonplace. This is not a rehabilitation facility by any stretch of the imagination. Some of the physical therapists are very good, but most ignore the patients and even leave the therapy room for extended periods while patients wait for their return. This "down time" still counts as part of the session, so very little therapy takes place.
The Chateau at Rochelle Park is a wolf in sheep's clothing. It looks very clean and well managed, but the patients are at the mercy of an uncaring, overworked staff. The nurses are only there to distribute medications-not to address medical issues that occur. The aides are supposed to take vitals, bathe, change patients, deliver their meals, assist in and out of bed, and essentially tend to every need of the patients with the exception of pills and injections.
Preventive measures to ensure patient recovery are not undertaken. As a patient deteriorates the new medical issue is addressed, even though it should have never occurred if standard protocol had been followed.
The Chateau at Rochelle Park is truly a dangerous place. Heed my review or you will someday look back and wonder how you could possibly have admitted your loved one to this facility. You will be watching the same things happen to them. Do not think your experience will be different. If you are young and completely able to self advocate, perhaps the Chateau will be adequate. It is grossly inadequate-downright harmful-to the rest of the population.

I am sorry for your experience. I too was at the chateau but had a very different experience. I am young yes but by being younger see and hear everything. I was there after a surgery that left me dependent on the staff totally. I found the staff and all you speak about to be the exact opposite.
