Had a family member at Golden Living, Independence in 2010.
Would recommend everyone to look elsewhere; newer places are about the same price per day and huge difference in quality of environment, care and food.
Rooms dark & difficult to get wheelchairs into doorways to small bathrooms without banging into footboard of bed.
Food that was listed as one thing on the menu (?record to Medicaid?) was often something completely different--and cheaper, lower quality.
Patients sitting around in hallway, some with clothing half-off. One lady was left in cafeteria for hours, apparently.
Nightmare of a place to put a loved one. We got our family member out as soon as we could and found a better, newer, brighter place with good food, better care, not depressing & smelly. I feel bad for people who don't have family to keep an eye on what's going on and make sure they get the right medicine, food and care.

We have had several staff changes since this review was written. Please come and tour, visit with the patients and meet the staff. We have great food, now offerring 4-5 menu choices and a friendly atmosphere with a wonderful therapy dept. that has attracted people from the community to use.
We know no one wants to come into a nursing facililty. We will make it as pleasant for you as we possibly can.
