Now all the residents rights are being violated because an incident that occurred at one of the other facilities. How ridiculous to think that putting the residents in the dining room for their snacks and drinks is going to prevent choking. They can choke on their saliva at any time. Do you think someone should sit in the residents rooms at all times just in case? Families are no longer able to give anything unless an aide is in the room watching. Yea right, like that is gonna happen. Hell they leave the members alone in the dinning room for 20 minutes while they were eating lunch (this just the other day). With the staff that you have there this is completely incomprehensible. And a another thing if a member can't remember that they have snacks in the dining room they get what the facilities provide instead of going into their little totes ( supplied by the Villa) and giving stuff they like. These poor residents many in wheel chairs must hunt down a staff member when they remember they have the treats to get them to go into their tote and sit with them so they can eat it. This is unrealistic and the people involved in rolling this insane idea out with out better organization and implementation need to listen to the families and just not blow them off . The families are the ones who know their family member better than anyone else and are good sources to the nurses, aides and doctors. I hope that you reconsider this ridiculous rule you have instituted without having all things considered and organized. Posting on here seems to get attention more so than speaking with at the Villa.
