Review of Coventry Meadows

I do NOT recommend Coventry Meadows…the place does look and smell clean, but residents needs are not met. Food service is slow, food choices repetitive, rooms are clean on the surface, but if you look closely there is often feces on bathroom surfaces, and dirty floors, etc. Staff have to be monitored by family members to make sure breathing equipment/oxygen tubes are replaced weekly as required and are kept in bags marked with residents name and date. I have seen nurses or QMAs leave pills on table and walk away, never coming back to check they were taken by the correct patient, I have seen my loved one go for weeks without a shower and finally brought in a family member who is an RN and demanded to use the shower room. My loved one got a fungal infection on hands & feet, got it cleared up, went in the hospital with pneumonia, upon return infection returned within days. I go every day after work to ensure my loved one is fed, clean, dry, has all evening meds and treatments, I put my loved one to bed every night with no help from limited staff. Currently there are 30 residents on the hall and 2 CNAs, which means each aide has 15 people to care for. It cannot be done without cutting corners on care. I clean the room, the wheel chair, all surfaces at least once per week. I would beware of any facility owned by American Senior Communities, there is too much emphasis on profit and not enough on care.
