Review of Palm Terrace of Mattoon

I am a 35-year-old male quadriplegic and I spent about five months with this facility and I thought that everything was really pretty good until I received a notice that I was being thrown out and the reasons that they put did not add up until some of their staff informed under the conditions of anonymity that the decision was financially based due to my Medicaid status and cost of care! They take really good care of you in the beginning until they get the money out of you or your insurance and then they shift you out of their facility without any thought or regard towards how it going to affect the resident

You are not the first or last person this has happened to!! They took my mother in law on the Gardens unit due to her having dementia and now have drugged her to the point that she can not talk or feed herself!! She has been there 7 months and when she went in she could walk fine, talk fine, feed herself perfectly fine, was able to shower on her own and had never had a seizure! Now she falls all the time and has had at least one seizure due to the medications!! And they have also tried to throw her out numerous times. We are trying to find her alternative placement which has proven almost impossible!! I am scared they are going to kill her!
