My mom was here after a fall and while it looks very pretty the care does not equal the care. The therapists are all great, the aides are the nicest people as are most of the nurses. BUT…there were times there was only one aide that showed up for work for the whole floor. The nurses didn't help them and Mom was left on the toilet for up to 20 minutes sometimes. 5-10 minutes for an answer to the call button is standard care guidelines, but we also saw times it would be on for 20-30 minutes. We were there a LOT so we saw it all personally. They have a real problem with aides calling in sick or being late and the weekends are a joke. Horrible attention not due to the lack of willingness of the aides, just not enough of them and they are run ragged. The nurses just sit there and do nothing but dispense meds and say they will send an aide in. Since Mom's stay I have met 4 other people who had parents there and they said they saw the same things. If you are swayed by how pretty it is like we were I can only say be prepared to spend the mornings and weekends there to help your loved one as until they get more staff you will have to be the one to help. The aides are burnt out as they get no help from the nurses and the mornings are just too busy for one person to help a whole wing of patients. Weekends…no senior manager there and even patients I talked to who were generally happy with the facility said weekends were a joke. My guess is if you don't need assistance getting to the bathroom or walking by yourself with a walker this would be an ok place. If your loved one does need that assistance just be there in the mornings and weekends. Oh, one last thing that shows how poor the management is here…Mom ordered baked chicken for lunch one day which is supposed to come with side dishes (veggies). She got a piece of chicken only…that's it! When I went to the serving area and asked for the vegetables the cook told me they had no vegetables that day. What?!?! THen why didn't they use their common sense to add a salad or something to the tray? But the bigger question is why no vegetables? Poorly managed all the way around.
