Review of Hunters Creek Nursing and Rehab Center

1 Star User Review

This is really a nursing center, NOT a rehab center. My mother went in for rehabilitation after a knee replacement and did not have her needs met. I had to work quickly to get her out of there b/c of the neglect.

She was in the “rehab” center in order to receive: a restful place in which to recover more fully, proper pain management, skilled & knowledgeable nursing, daily physical therapy, proper meals.

What she actually received: Her pain meds were consistently late (sometimes as much as 2 1/2 hours late – and then they were even substituted at times with Tylenol), meals were often cold, the staff didn't know how to use her passive exercise machine, active PT was minimal, and her "care plan" meeting was set to take place TWO WEEKS AFTER she entered the center. If she had just sat for two weeks, waiting for an action plan, she would've had a much longer road to recovery. Even after a 2nd meeting (full of empty promises) with the charge nurse and director of nursing, nothing changed. I was a constant presence, and that didn't even encourage them to take their jobs seriously. The 5 am “parties” outside my mother’s room were flat out inconsiderate. These were not simple exchanges about patient care, either. They were 30-45 minute socialization (complete with “hooting and hollering”) marathons. No wonder patients didn’t get their pain meds on time! Do NOT send anyone you love to this substandard facility. There is no compassion, and no work ethic.

Here’s a novel idea –They should adopt the Golden Rule as to how they treat their patients. I know it is a stretch, but they could even take it a step further… How would they want their own mother treated?
