I have been there every day after work to make sure I am 'an advocate' for my family member…the PT department seems interested in the care ……and due to the fact that i am constantly at the facility to make sure things are done, it has helped make the transition easier……….the facilities need some TLC…as it does look very 'institutional', the shower facilities need work, there has been a shower head leak for 5 weeks…reported after the 2nd week and still has not been repaired, there has been a light fixture also missing in the shower, and it could also do with a complete scrubbing…..I do have to say the nurses are responsive to any request or concern, but there have been some heated verbal exchanges between the nursing staf that I have overheard, I do think the CNA's could be more proactive in the little things, keeping the rooms more clean, making sure tissue paper is in the bathroom, clean linen, making sure people are eating and if they need help to eat, then to make sure it is easy to do so…like cutting up things and opening cartons, that sort of thing, there are many 'little things' that could bring this facility into more than just average…………I could go on with some other observations, but I think you understand the general theme here, just a litlle work to go beyond just average………………
