My father just spent a month in the short term rehab unit. He can be difficult to please but was very happy with the facility, staff, PT and the food.

This is the worst place to put a loved one. It is an absolute dump. It smells really bad, and the staff turnover rate is very high. Patient belongings get stolen by the staff and management does nothing. Extremely poor response times to call lights, incompetent patient care of bedsores and bacterial pneumonia. Senior management is rude and disrespectful of patients and families. Don’t put a loved one here!

My Mom was here for rehab twice (2016 and 2017), and I can’t say enough good things about this center. The management is great, the facility is spotlessly clean, and the nursing staff is outstanding. Everyone took wonderful care of Mom, and Mom loved the people. I’m grateful for the loving care they gave my Mom.

This facility is old, shabby and outdated. Unless you bring in your own furniture, the furnishings are ratty. We had a few nice workers who care, but for the most part the care is hugely inadequate and sloppy. Good food, but the care is really, really bad. I won't go back

Rosewood Health and Rehab Center Independence, Missouri 64050

The Groves has been taken over by Rosewood Health and Rehab. When we first moved my Mother into the Groves with Alzheimers, she was well cared for, in a Christian environment.. She paid a portion of her care (about $56/day) and Medicare paid the rest.. . When Rosewood took over, care gradually began to diminish- still ok… but little by little, the staffing and resident interaction shrank to the minimums it is today When she passed away 5 years and $95000.00 (of her portion) later, she did so 6 days into a new month. For the last six days, she ate no food, and lay unresponsive in her bed, attended only by Hospice. Medicaid paid her expenses for the six days, and I called and offered to pay the $56/day that she had been paying for 5 years. But suddenly that was not good enough. They sent me a bill for $875.00, because that is "just how we bill". We had some extra funeral expenses, and cannot afford this. They told me that unless I paid their bogus balance they would not give me my photographs and oil paintings, which were done for her by my late, arthritic father and are of no value to anyone but me. This caring, Christian place has turned into something dark under Rosewoods' management. Do your loved one a favor and look elsewhere. Beware!

6/23/14 Express Rehabilitation of Independence is a joke. The doctor didn't even take the time to visit my mother but once the entire time she was there. He judges his version of care and pain medication on the statements of LPN's most of them just out of school. I tried to talk to him but he said he didn't have time to talk to me. My mother was very discouraged with her care or lack of it. Every time I left, which was seldom, to run an errand or go get a bite to eat I came back to my mother crying in pain. The employees lied and blamed one another to cover their errors including the LPN in charge. Therapy was disgraceful. I expressed my mom right out of there. Don't leave your loved one there unless you are going to stay with them 24/7. The LPN's need a lot more training, continued education, and monitoring. I feel so sorry for the people there that don't have anyone looking out for them.

We placed our Uncle here and we thought everyone was nice and caring. The rooms aren't that big but when it came down to beauty or care we chose care. He is happy there and we feel he gets great care. We talk to the staff weekly and they have had some employee's working there quite a long time, that says a lot to us. After reading the other reviews I should mention they have new dietary management and lots of raves on the food now.

Staff is incredible and took care of my grandma perfectly. The management and nursing staff is constantly focused on their residents, and treat them with the utmost respect and care. The atmosphere overall is very positive and inviting. I wish I could live there and I'm only 22.

Substandard. So much goes on that the public has no knowledge of. Residents are left sitting in urine and feces for long periods of time. Call lights are not answered in a timely fashion. Very often, especially after visiting hours, there will be one aide for 25 people-unacceptable! Most times the workers do not even have the supplies they need to do their work. Bed sores are common. Save yourself a lot of anguish and frustration and go somewhere else. It all looks good but be warned! looks are deceiving.

There is nothing I can say other than if you need to be rehabilitated physically or need to be cared for 24 hrs/day then this is the place to live!!!!!!!!!

Beautiful place but realize that it is only a facade. The care at Villages of Jackson Creek is horrible and that is an over-statement to say the least. There are patients that leave Villages in worse shape than better. Most leave via hospitals or ICU.

Charts are not read. My father missed medications and breathing treatments and when questioned staff hunted and found notes in the chart that had not been read before.

Understaffing is the norm, patients wait for 20 to 30 min. to get help to go to the bathroom.

Portable Oxygen tanks are not filled nore the leval of use monatored.

Breathing treatments were left on the bedside table by the nurse, running while my father slept.

They left me completely alone for a long time and I became very nervous. The the place made me sick to my stomach, it wreaked like urine from the moment i walked into the door, i decided to turn around and not bother with filling out an app. i wouldn't suggest working nor putting my beautiful grand mother in that place waiting area was overcrowded and too small. Multiple people had to stand as there were not enough seats. Everyone was pretty much wedged in. The first time I walked into their office, I immediately smelled an absolutely horrible odor. I don't think they've ever cleaned the place. It made me nauseous. This provider has no helpful information available online, apart from their address and phone number. They just have a basic listings page. It was not easy to reach them in an emergency. I had to call several times before I finally reached them.

The facility gets low scores on state inspections because of its many deficiencies (Please read state inspection reports). Resident care is poor. I would not recommend that you place your loved one in this facility.

Had a family member at Golden Living, Independence in 2010.

Would recommend everyone to look elsewhere; newer places are about the same price per day and huge difference in quality of environment, care and food.

Rooms dark & difficult to get wheelchairs into doorways to small bathrooms without banging into footboard of bed.

Food that was listed as one thing on the menu (?record to Medicaid?) was often something completely different--and cheaper, lower quality.

Patients sitting around in hallway, some with clothing half-off. One lady was left in cafeteria for hours, apparently.

Nightmare of a place to put a loved one. We got our family member out as soon as we could and found a better, newer, brighter place with good food, better care, not depressing & smelly. I feel bad for people who don't have family to keep an eye on what's going on and make sure they get the right medicine, food and care.

AND HAD TO GO BACK TO A HOME, HE WANTED TO GO THERE, SO HE WENT

INTO THE LONG TERM SIDE.

THIS SIDE IS THE WORST. NOT ENOUGH NURSES NOT ENOUGH EXPERIENCED

NURSES LETS PUT IT THAT WAY. WE HAD HOSPICE THANK GOD. THEY MADE THINGS COMFORTABLE FOR HIM. HE PASSED AWAY THERE AND I WILL NEVER FORGIVE THE NURSES THERE AT THE HOME , NOT HOSPICE, FOR NOT CALLING

US SO WE COULD HAVE BEEN THERE. I DONT THINK THEY CHECKED ON HIM NO LET ME RE PHRASE THAT THEY WERENT EXPERIENCED ENOUGH TO KNOW HE WAS DYING. NOT A GOOD PLACE IN MY HEART, I WOULD NEVER PUT ANOTHER

I wish I would have been better informed before moving my family member here. Staff are not helpful with visitors or residents. Bad experience started with the admissions director to the nursing staff.

My grandmother was a resident at this facillity. She recieved wonderful care and was treated like the staffs grandma. I visited unannounced at different times of the day and I never had a problem with her care. Day or night she was taken care of. The staff is very friendly and love their residents and the patient care is superb.

I was in loved ones room for over an hour after my dad pushed the alert button to get hello……still no one came……I went to nursing station to find it full of staff listening to the alert as if nothing happened…..

Food is horrible…….dry…..they tried a new menu system that lasted 3 days…..employee overturn is horrific….always someone different there…you have to pay extremely close attention or your loved one will not be cared for properly……it looks nice….but that is it…
