My father was released from the hospital at Christmastime and couldn't go back to his apartment due to the level of care he still needed. He was sent to Nyack Manor where the staff lost his sneakers. On Christmas day the family went to visit him at the Manor where we found him laying naked on top of his bed. I reported it immediately to the floor supervisor and case management. There was no apology or admission of guilt for the conduct. A year later, they sent a bill regarding a past due amount. After numerous phone calls we determined that a bill that should have been sent to major medical never got sent and now that the time-limit has closed for submittal they expect us to pay it, regardless that we've showed them it was clearly their fault. Make sure you have ALL paperwork and hire a good attorney, because you will need it.
