Review of Florissant Valley Health & Rehabilitation Center

1 Star User Review

As a recent consumer of care at Manorcare / Florissant, I am most disgusted and disappointed in this facility. The day we took my loved one to admit her we had a 20 minute wait for someone to come and bring a wheelchair to the car as we were told once the resident was on their property we had to wait for a nurse to escort her in. Once inside the building, there were no sheets on the bed, the room was dirty and there was no one availlable to do an initial intake with her. It seemed they were clearly not ready for her.

She has had 3 falls since her admission date, the most recent one resulted in a trip by ambulance to the hospital only AFTER we were told the in house doctor COULD NOT see her as he was just there the day before. She sustained rope burns from an inadequately trained CNA who attempted to use the HOYA lift with no one helping her. The previous day I was in the administrator's office and she informed me that there should always be 2 persons operating the lifts. My loved one has been caused extreme pain and suffering in this facility due to a lack of caring by Cna's, nurses and nearly everyone there. My loved one is a diabetic, legally blind, wheelchair bound heart patient and we were told upon many visits PRIOR to admission that the staff there could take good care of her.

My loved ones blood sugars are skyrocketing since her admission into the mid 200 to mid 300's. She is afraid of everyone in the facility now as she has been hurt 3 times. My sibling and myself have to be there with her nearly all day EVERY day to be sure there are no further incidents. My advice: STEER CLEAR OF MANORCARE!!!!!!
