This building has excellent care. No one is perfect but they do everything they can to make you feel comfortable & let you know you are important to them.

My mother went to this care center after having a total knee replacement. When we went to visit on the 3rd day her knee machine was placed on her knee wrong. When my sister lifted off the ice pack to correct the machines placement she noticed her knee was very hot to the touch, red and enlarged. We had them call the emt's to take her back to the er. When we finished there and she was returned to Cascade Park the emt's couldn't find anybody to tell them which room was her's. We ended up moving her to a different center the next day because a lack of care, response to her needs and not giving her the correct medicine or doses on time. When we moved her she was still wearing the same clothes she came in. Without ever getting a bath. All in all it was a horrible experience.

All personnel are very caring and they attend to your loved one promptly. It has been such a relief to me to have my husband in their care when I cannot be there with him (and even when I am!)

My father stayed there about 5 years ago and because of the wonderful treatment he got there I recently recommended Cascade Park to a friend whos mother had recently had a stroke. Unfortunately management has obviously changed and many of the employees who were so wonderful with my father are no longer with the company which is strange because so many of them had been there for so long when my dad was there. My friend first called me with concerns after her mother was there for over 5 days without a shower, and the excuse the staff gave was that hours were severely cut by the administration and there wasnt time to get to everyone all the time. My friends mother ended up with a severe Urinary infection due to lack of hydration according to the hospital. The hospital actually told her they had been seeing a lot of infections, injurys, and other issues from this facility in the past couple years. So my friend did not send her mother back for fear of the worst. I went with her to pick up her mothers things she was met by the head nurse who was very rude and also found her mothers things already piled in a back office like garbage. My father had a wonderful time there but this place is obviously under new administration because it is not the same enjoyable place my father enjoyed til he passed. Its too bad that they have lost the loving staff they used to have and that caring for the people they care for is no longer important.
Check into other facilities this just isnt the place it used to be

Neglect. Patient care is very poor. If there is any possibility, place your loved one somewhere else. If you can't go somewhere else- stay with them 24/7 to make sure they get the care they need.

Care of my grandfather was very poor. Would NOT recommend
Discovery Nursing & Rehab of Vancouver Vancouver, Washington 98663
As a nurse of over 25 years experience in both acute and long term care, I have found Discovery Nursing & Rehab to be a very good care facility. I was impressed with the facility from the first momemnt I walked through the doors. Staff are caring and well qualified. I would not hesitate to have a loved one cared for here. I have talked with others in the community and have heard the same from them.

They have their priorities skewed. They are profit driven way before delivering patient care. Staff are overworked. The building is abysmal. I would not place a family member here unless you were to stay at their beside 24/7.

Today I went to go see my dad at Pacific…..His face was unwashed and looked terrible, his dialysis snack was sitting under a bag filled with soilded depends (poop), his water was in the corner and unreacheable, his table was by his neighbor, his heel protector boots were not on (my dad has a stage 4 ulcer on his heel already), he was hungry (the CNA said he didn't want his lunch). He has dementia and forgets he's hungry, or has eaten from one second to the next. It's so disappointing. The fact that his daughter is an RN and stops by on a daily basis seems to make no difference in how they care for him (not that it should, they should care for everyone well.) Yesterday his neighbor had chest pain, I told the "nurse/RN" and she NEVER went in to check on him. I had to call management, and really I don't know if anything got done. He was ok today. I'm speaking to management on Monday. Don't think it'll make a difference though.
My sister and I will be removing our dad from that facility ASAP!
