Review of Waters Edge at Port Jefferson for Rehab and Nursing

1 Star User Review

New management is spending all money on refurbishing the place and nothing on the patients. The turnover is terrible. The attitude of the staff is frightening.

I met a nurse with alcohol on her breath last Sunday morning. I saw another nurse kick a patient on the sub-acute care floor.

They drop the patients off when asked to be taken to Bingo or church service. They leave them at the door and run off, leaving the patient sitting at the door.

When my Mom asked to be taken to the church service, the nurse ignored her (the same one who kicked the other patient.)

Tonight they disconnected all the phone so you cannot call in. I called back three times. I was on hold for a total of one hour.

The food is horrific. In two weeks, my Mom has never had what she ordered. They run out of food on Sunday.

Weekends are a free-for-all. There seems to be no one in charge.

Get your parents out of there as soon as you can. If you love them.

I was schocked to read this comment as the staff has been wonderful! My dad is here for rehab and not only has the care been excellent, everyone is caring, compassionate and very hardworking. I would defnitely recommend this facility to everyone!
