Review of Glengariff Health Care Center

Was in this facility after a stroke. Don't let looks deceive you. It is nestled in the woods and it looks nice on the first floor with that fishtank, but it all ends there. It was probably cosmetically done like that for guests that arrive. Some of the staff are inattentive to your needs and have attitude problems. I was dropped in the bathroom by a staff member and she insisted it was my fault for slipping. Got arguments from staff late at night that I was going to the bathroom too much and they had better things to do. I said to myself right then and there that somehow in some way I'm going to get to the bathroom by myself as I felt I had a better chance not to get hurt even if I had to crawl. As it was bathroom doors did not close all the way so there was little privacy. The food was atrocious. I lost 15 lbs while I was there in 3 months. One day they forgot to give me my insulin shot which complicated the matter since I kept getting sugary foods in the first place so my sugar levels were always near 200. The top level was very hot as there was no AC on when I arrived. Bugs were all over the place. I do have some praise for the therapists as my PT and OT tried for me and showed concern. I liked the entertainment on the patio on Friday. All in all I would have liked some of the staff to be patients one day to see how it feels. I was happy to get out of that place alive.
