Review of Yorktown Rehabilitation & Nursing Center

1 Star User Review

My mom was there for 5 days to try to rehab before hip replacement surgery. As soon as she arrived there we knew it was a mistake. The place is filthy and old. The staff were rude at times and when we needed something, no one was available. We constantly had to hunt down a nurse to get her meds. She hadn't eaten in the 6 days that she was there and no one was concerned about it until I complained that she's wasting away. No IV was administered, we were told they don't do that there, yet the day I complained to the nurse practioner, she said yes they do IV's there. So why hadn't they done it when they saw she wasn't eating. Got the runaround from the social worker as well as the nurses. Everyone had a different story when we asked something. She was left in a wet diaper on numerous occasions and not given her meds when she needed them. I can go on and on. I'm so disappointed in the care my mom received. Today she got transferred out to a hospital, coincidentally a day after I complained. We heard the news from the PT guy, not the nursing staff or the social worker. He said they had a meeting and it was decided she needed to be on an IV. We were not asked to be at the meeting and who is he to tell us this news. On another occasion, the same PT guy said my mom was only going to be there for a few more days. I hope my mom makes it because the care that she received there was the worst. Do not send anyone there ever. If I could give it zero stars I would.
