Review of Yorktown Rehabilitation & Nursing Center

Zero stars.

If you want to know what happens when a century old non-profit nursing home gets swallowed by a for profit company look no further than the former Field Home now known as Yorktown Rehabilitation & Nursing.

Yes Capitalism offers efficiency. And this efficiency of capitalism is often derived though the result of greed. Less workers, cheaper ingredient etc, all in the name of meeting or exceeding Return on Equity projections. If you're an investor, I think you would be happy with your investment in Yorktown Rehabilitation, if you're a patient there, well that's another story.

If you are seeking care in your retirement or after an accident, imagine spending your days and nights in a place where the SOLE concern of the management is providing its residents with the bare minimum standards mandated by the state. Minimum standards. Remember that. They only care about money. That goes from the food served to the residents to the new (and old) employees who were willing to work for less.

Don't believe me. Ask some longer term residents if your are even considering living there. The management and ownership are some of the greediest people I've ever met. And I've met some greedy people in my life.
