Review of Alaris Health at Belgrove

As another reviewer stated, the aides here are the weak link in the care and treatment of the residents here. It is not unusual for all of the aides on a given floor to cluster together and shoot the breeze. This, while some patients are ringing their call buttons, as in the case of my mother, who routinely waited over 20 minutes to be assisted into the bathroom or to have her bedding changed when she didn't get to the bathroom in time. I was here on a Saturday night around 8:15pm, and there were literally patients crying to be brought back to their room from the common area, but there were absolutely NO aides on the floor. According to the RN, they were all on break at the same time. Completely unacceptable.

The doctors are scarcely-seen, and when they do examine the patients it is more of a cursory thing than anything. The RN's, for the most part, seem competent and caring, but there aren't enough of those to go around here.

One has to realize that this is a Medicare facility, not a private hospital, so while there may be issues here, imagine how bad the treatment must be at the lesser facilities in the area.

The place is kept clean, is pleasant to look at, especially the 1st floor (PT level), and the maintenance and admin staff are quite competent.
