Staff is not great -- mostly West Africans. Food is inedible -- the kitchen doesn't know how to cook or even put together a menu

I had a family member admitted to this rehab place and when ever i would call to see how he was i always got the run around and they seem like they do not care if yo want to know how the family member is or not they dont want you to talk to the family member until you get frustrated with them they are very inconcsiderate and it seems to me that they really dont want to take time with the patients I always thought that the rehab and health places was for the patients to help them so they could go home and be with their loveones I recently went to see my family member we asked to speak to a nurse it took the nurse 25 minutes to come speak to us when she did she was very rude and no beside manner to the patient this place really needs to be looked in to I have a feeling that abuse is going on in this place and the patient is scared to say anything because what could happen to them after the family leaves The county needs to looki into this

Friends tell me that / like in any industry / there are some employees who offer excellent care and attention to their duties, and there are some who are not quite so good……….
This facility has at least one person who gives my Mom special care and attention every time:
She is a nursing assistant named Petrina. Apparently, this woman makes sure my Mom's teeth aren't falling out, she gets help going to the bathroom and getting cleaned up after meals etc. and she helps my Mom with all the moisturizer etc. the typical old lady needs for dry skin, etc. Any of us would think such things are obviously part of the job and not really negotiable. However, there are obviously some employees who avoid such things and prefer to just skate through their shift, leaving the less fun tasks for the next shift / employee to deal with (maybe). Overall, this is a great facility that tries pretty hard to keep everyone happy, but it's important to visit and pay attention to these "obvious" things, if you hope to get your loved ones taken care of properly / all the time.

The administrator was very rude to me. I would never give these people my money!

Clean and neat, very professional staff. An excellent facility for my mom. They are very caring and they listen. I would definitely recommend them.

They put on a good show to have you or your loved one admitted but once admitted it is all about the money. The nurses for the most part do their best but they are limited by an administrator that only cares about the bottom line NOT patient care.

Don't stay here the rehab is ok and the staff nice downstairs, but upstairs the quality of nursing care is substandard. They don't seem to understand the meds or needs of the patients - they are trying to sell the place on the quality of the downstairs but the upstairs, patients will tell you the truth when staff are out of ear shot. It's not a good place for loved ones - got my dad out of the rehab and was warned by staff that upstairs gets lots o complaints that fall on deaf ears in the senior leadership - culture of protecting each other.

My mother (85 years old) broke her hip, and after her operation, stayed here for months. It was a difficult time for everyone. Once she came home and re-adjusted to being home (although mostly still in a wheel chair…..) I asked her what she thought about Bethesda Rehab center / if they took good care of her?
She said, "Oh YES….those people were VERY NICE to me and couldn't have possibly worked any harder, to keep me as comfortable as possible. They were VERY NICE to me." For somebody with a failing memory, this was vividly clear in her mind. Furthermore my mother is NOT easily pleased….. unless you hand her some ice cream. :)
