My 91 yr old father was placed here because it is the only nursing facility in Topeka that is covered by his VA benefits. This place in one word is TERRIBLE. It is not clean, has a rapid turnover of staff and in general feels like a prison with its cinder block walls and run down condition. My family is doing everything we can to get our father moved to a better facility, and it cannot happen fast enough. It feels like he is in hell right now…not a great thing for a WWII veteran. A visit here by any reasonable person would confirm this assessment very quickly.
