  • Palms Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, The Palm Bay, Florida 32905

I wish there was a no star button. My mother received terrible treatment there. The CNA's were rude. My mom sat in soiled garments after a bed bath, she fell out of bed WHILE BEING CHANGED! I can go on, but let me tell you DO NOT PUT YOUR LOVED ONE AT THIS FACILITY. I'm outraged!

  • Life Care Center of Palm Bay Palm Bay, Florida 32907

I had a very nice visit and the OT assistants were very sweet and helpful the whole time. I had to skip a couple of treatments but they always understood my pain. Dont want to go back, but If I have to I want to go there. The rest of the staff was good as well just seemed alittle over booked.

  • Anchor Care and Rehabilitation Center Palm Bay, Florida 32905

Overall very caring staff and they try to engage the patients. Lots of activities for the residents to join, my mother said the food is good. However somehow my mother was not bathed in 2 weeks, she was not put in the bath schedule and I could not find the person who would take the responsibility to do this, so I kept asking every one I saw who worked there until she got a bath. It seems she is on the schedule again. My mother should have spoken up, but she said she kept forgetting. She ended up with a rash, but with proper cleaning it will heal and the staff seems to care.

After reading the below review, I felt I had to provide more information. For me the jury is still out. I have a family member in this facility right now and I have had serious concerns over the time lapse between notifying them of a care issue and when they responded. It seems the squeaky wheel gets the oil at this facility and as of this time, I am not impressed.

The administrator of the facility has some issues with follow thu since it has taken several days to get requested information when it was promised a couple of days ago.

Yes the facility is very clean and beautiful, but that is not why my family member is there. Its for the rehabilitation which in my opinion is minimal at best right now. Not at all as detailed and aggressive as they represented to us before we moved my family member to this facility.

The Medical staff seems very competent, but again, follow thru. I will not at this time discuss the details of the lack of follow thru since I am afraid of repercussion with the staff if they figure out who I am and who my family member is.

I will follow thru (unlike the staff) and update this review when more information becomes available. In the mean time, you are responsible for the care of your family members so be vigilant and make them follow thru as you require.

You may notice that the inspection results and one rating were high with the exception of Nursing. This is 100% accurate and despite the tremendous therapists provided at Life Care Center of Palm Bay, my professional experience as an RN could rate Nursing and therefore LCC of Palm Bay at no more than 1 star. That would be for the one nurse and 2 CNAs who maintained the highest quality of care at all times for my mother-in-law. The only problem was they weren't there 24/7. The many opportunities we had to share our concerns with nursing supervision resulted in assuring us that they were doing all that is required by LAW. Check out the LAW in your state. I encouraged my family to send my mother-in -law there because of the outstanding reputation for Rehab and the facility was very attractive. After 2 emergencies, including surgery from which she didn't recover and I was looking for hthat the facility I didn't even give a chance due to physical appearance had the highest nursing standards of care and practice to back that up of any I evaluated. Their owners went beyond minimum state requirements. My recommendation is to look below the surface and talk not only to Directors of Nursing but read as many reviews as you can find and when possible talk to the RNs/LPNs. Are they staffed to enable them to provide the care they were taught to give? Do the care plans and nursing orders address how BASIC NURSING skills (hydration/skin evaluation and care/toileting-looking at BMs) are evaluated. It is important that if Nursing doesn't come to the table for monthly/weekly meetings with family that they are willing to meet individually with you to address questions.
